We ensure that Clients receive a personal service. All our Clients have an individual solicitor, consultant or legal executive with specific responsibility for overseeing that Client's matter. The conduct of each case is supervised by a Partner or our Consultant. We believe that there is an open accessible approach as a valuable way of working together with our Client to provide a quality service where they are kept fully informed of progress in their case. If, for any reason, you have any queries about, or are left unhappy with our service, we encourage you to discuss the issue with the person who has the day to day handling of the matter and their supervising Partner or Consultant or if you would prefer with Nicholas Hodgson who is our Client Care Partner.

How much will it cost for a Client to consult a Solicitor is often a cause of great concern and people are often hesitant to talk about money.

Privately Funded

We will always discuss the financing of your case with you at the first interview and provide the best estimate possible of the cost you are likely to have to bear. In some matters, i.e., buying or selling a house where there are no unusual or complicated factors we will act on a fixed fee basis so that you will know exactly how much your legal bill will be and will be able to budget accurately for your move.

In other cases we will charge an hourly rate. In order that you are fully aware of the terms upon which we work we offer a free diagnostic interview where we will advise whether or not you have a legal problem and set out the terms upon which we would take your case on and deal with the same on your behalf.

If your case is taken on as a privately funded case then you will receive a Client Care advice letter which is sent to all Clients at the commencement of a matter setting out in writing our level of charges for that matter.

Publicly Funded Cases Legal Aid

Where you qualify for funding from the Legal Services Commission the level of fees is still a very relevant issue to you as the "Legal Aid Statutory Charge" may apply. A full explanation of the Legal Aid Statutory Charge is given to all Clients who may be affected by the Charge. When the Charge applies the cost of providing the legal service is to the Client by recouping from the Client from money or property which has been an issue in the proceedings. It is important to note that in some cases where Public Funding has been granted a Client can still end up paying for our services!
